Checking in with yourself in the morning can be a powerful practice.
Start with observing how you are feeling. Do you have feelings of irritation, anxiety, anger or frustration?
If so, locate where this feeling resides in the body? i.e. Is it located around your heart, stomach, shoulders etc.
Stay with the feeling. Concentrate on it. Accept that the feeling is there. Don’t resist it.
Notice the urge of the ego in you to blame others for how you feel, or by wishing your external life could be different.
Hold a strong presence, and witness the feeling as it changes and dissipates.
Rather than being your thoughts and emotions, be the awareness behind them.”
