Life can feel like a rat race. Sometimes it’s all go go go.
“I have so much on my to do list. Where will I find the time? There is no time.”
The inner voice keeps nattering away. The heart beats faster and faster. Our mind falls deeper and deeper into our imagination, playing out future events. Anxiety floods our system. Stress levels rapidly increase. Our fists become clinched. Our shoulders start to feel super tight. Headaches start to come and go in flashes.
We know we are stressed. We know it is from over-thinking. But how do we stop it?
One thing for sure is that more thinking doesn’t help. Thinking is the root cause.
So we need to give ourselves a break from the thinking mind. To do this, we simply need to become conscious of our breath.
Whenever you are conscious of the breath, you are absolutely present. You may notice that you cannot think and be aware of your breathing. Conscious breathing stops your mind.
